You’ve seen Ji Hye Park’s ever so stylish yet effortless street style snaps all over the internet when she’s “off duty,” but what happens when she becomes stylist of the day and curates outfits for our new Slovakian talent on the rise, Dorota Kullova?
No hair or makeup available, Ji Hye is tasked to pull together three outfits for casting, casual wear and NYFW using the minimal-meets-chic pieces from Assembly NY, a coolgirl magnet on the Lower East Side. Check out what actually went down during this special styling episode of #TSMFieldTrip, and you might pick up a tip or two from her!
Outfit #1: Casting
Ji Hye: Casting (look) is really tricky. Usually all the models just wear skinny jeans and a T-shirt, but I always want to stand out and show them my personality. How do you like to dress, Dorota?
Dorota: I love to show up in a more boyish look, something simple and comfortable is what I’d choose.
Ji Hye: For Dorota, I paired an easy white shirt with black pants and a leather bra underneath. It’s simple and fits her style; she can also take off the shirt easily at casting to showcase her body. “But as for me, I just want to be creative and be who I am, haha!”
Outfit #2: NYFW
Ji Hye: I absolutely love overalls! They are so easy and so cool to wear — basically my style. I especially like Dorota’s yellow jumpsuit, the color is so unique and looks amazing on her. She will definitely stand out wearing this during Fashion Week, haha!
Outfit #3: Casual wear
Ji Hye: It’s so hot right now and I just want to wear a summer dress that doesn’t stick to my skin. One of my favorite styles of all time is the “sailor look” with the collar, like this vintage Comme de Garçon dress from Assembly. It also reminds me of the cartoon character Madeline — I love to look feminine from time to time!
Dorota: Me too, most of the time I like to look cool and minimal but at times I want to have the “womanly look” as well, haha!
Ji Hye: That’s why I picked this outfit for you — the baggy jeans are casual and has a boyish look to it, but the rhinestones on top add a feminine touch. The shoes also add a pop of color to the whole look, it’s perfect for summer time!
